*At last: in 2023, Save Nemo is heading back into the field to protect coral reefs.*

## Back to Indonesia

For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic, the Save Nemo e.V. team is setting out again to protect coral reefs. Our destination is Indonesia.

Almost three years have passed since Save Nemo travelled to the Philippines to install moorings there for the first time. The pandemic prevented that work from going ahead, and one team was stranded in Asia for two months.

Now we are starting again, with two teams:

1. First, we will inspect our mooring points in North Sulawesi.
2. Next, we plan to map the reefs around Ternate in North Maluku.
3. If political and security conditions allow, we will also carry out an assessment in Timor.

## Testing the cloud-connected Nemo Pi

We are particularly excited to test the cloud-based version of Nemo Pi in Bali. This version sends water-monitoring data to our cloud platform at [nemopi.com](https://nemopi.com/?ref=sn.olafwrieden.com), where the readings are analysed and enhanced using artificial intelligence.

We will report on this work in more detail.

*None of this would have been possible without the Nemo Pi hardware and software team. A thousand thanks from Save Nemo for your fantastic work. You are brilliant!*
